About Us

Little Black Book was founded in 2010. 

Our operation is deliberately small, and our staff members are well experienced in the fields of advertising and branding, having worked at top agencies in the industry. We love design, and our specialisations include publication design, packaging design, advertising campaigns, copywriting, proof reading and final artwork. 

It is important to us that our clients are open to our way of thinking and can relate to the work that we do. This way we know that during the course of any project, everyone’s on the same page.

Nicola

Director

With a background in publication design, Nicola left her work with magazines Elle and Marie Claire in London to return to Sri Lanka and join a pioneering team of Leo Burnett Sri Lanka. Her experience in fashion photography helped her create unique looks for many brands (e.g. Dulux, Mobitel, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, and Wijeya Newspapers), in particular the largest department store at the time – Odel. She has many memorable and award-winning creatives to her credit, both in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Nicola left Leo Burnett in 2010 to form Little Black Book – a communications company which specialises in design. 

Kumar

Production Manager

Kumar has worked in the advertising and print media industry for over 30 years, beginning his career as a typographic operator at Lazer Graphic (Pvt) Ltd – one of Sri Lanka’s pioneering typographic companies. He has also worked for the Colombo offices of international advertising agencies JWT and Lowe LDB. Kumar specialises in final artwork and photo retouching, and has garnered management skills along the way. He is constantly updating himself on the latest design software.

Sam

Creative Consultant

Sam has worked in the advertising industry as a copywriter and designer for the last 16+ years, developing brands such as John Keells Hotels, Odel, Jetwing Hotels, Coca-Cola, DFCC Bank, Embark, Mobitel, Dialog, KFC, Kist Biscuits, Hilton Colombo, Hilton Colombo Residences, Dulux, Havelock City, and SLT. Over the years, Sam has worked at Leo Burnett Solutions Inc., MAS Intimates, TNL Radio Network, and AOD Colombo.
